About Us

The IUPA Local 6000 consists of State Law Enforcement employees throughout the state of Florida.  Members of the union have joined together as they realize the strength of numbers in ensuring that they have a strong political voice throughout the community, the county, the State of Florida and on a national level.  They also realize the need for fair negotiations for wages, benefits, and terms of employment.  Through the affiliation with the IUPA and the AFL-CIO, members of the union know that they have the backing of not only their union, but their community.  They also know that they have the legal backing to fight unfair working conditions and mistreatment by management.  The IUPA’s General Counsel’s Office and their attorneys fight hard to protect the employees and have had successes unknown in Florida for a long time.

The Labor Relations Information Systems recently reported that the IUPA was number one in securing the highest wages for employees.  In addition, the IUPA was also number one in negotiating more leave time with respect to vacation, sick and leave time.  The IUPA has maintained the toughest contracts that side with employees since the organization was chartered by the AFL-CIO in 1979.  They are proud of their accomplishments and continue to soar above other organizations in contract negotiations.
